Duesenberg made the signature Starplayer TV guitar especially for Mike Campbell to celebrate the thirtieth anniversary of Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers. It has become an iconic guitar with its blue metallic paint and white racing stripes on the maple body and spruce top. The nickel-plated pickguard bears the signature of Mike Campbell and 30 years Heartbreakers logo. This is one of the most sought-after Duesenberg guitars in the world. John Mayer even has one! That's because, apart from its iconic looks, the Duesenberg Starplayer TV Mike Campbell sounds amazing. The guitar comes with a matching Duesenberg case.

The unique sound of the Duesenberg Starplayer TV Mike Campbell

Partly responsible for this unique sound are pickups: a Duesenberg Domino P-90 in the neck position and a Duesenberg Grand Vintage humbucker at the bridge. The P90 delivers sparkling chords with a nice frayed edge, while the Grand Vintage humbucker ensures full leads. The three-way position switch has a special circuit which filters out low-frequency sound when in the middle position. This semi-hollow-body guitar has an open sound with a powerful rock punch that Mike Campbell made rock history with. The strings run over a Duesenberg Deluxe Tremola, one of the better vibrato units of this type.

Duesenberg named itself after the famous car company from the twenties that stood for elegance, luxury and mechanical precision.
