General

The mind-bending ESP E-II Horizon is the result of exacting Japanese craftsmanship, and while it comes at a far lower price than Original Series models, this is still a super-serious instrument built for super-serious guitar work. Expect elastic, wide-ranging tone, and extreme comfort and playability. Form-fit case included.

The E-II Horizon: A Stable Core

The core of the ESP E-II Horizon is formed by a mahogany body with a comfortably arched and elegantly grained quilted maple top. The stable and sustain-rich neck-thu construction shoots the three-piece maple neck all the way through the body, which doesn't just increase acoustic resonance but allows smooth and unhindered access to the highest of the twenty-four extra jumbo frets of the ebony fretboard. That, combined with satin finish on the back of the neck, polishes off the E-II Horizon with an ultra-light and nimble playing feel.

Build Quality

The ESP team have equipped the E-II Horizon with an EMG 66TW at the neck and an EMG 57TW at the bridge. While these active humbuckers are definitely setup for heavy-duty work, they're anything but one-trick-ponies since both the volume and tone pots double as push/pull coil-split controls that slice the double-coils in two to open up a massive sonic rift and a vast array of profiles. Also, thanks to the Gotoh locking tuners, swapping out the strings couldn't be easier, and since this is the NT-II version of the E-II Horizon, it comes finished with a Gotoh TOM bridge bridge.
