General

ESP LTD's AA-600 Alan Ashby Signature Black Satin electric guitar features a single EMG 81 active humbucker at the bridge and has a single volume knob. As Alan proves, that's all you need to produce a serious wall of sound. The rhythm guitarist in metalcore band Of Mice & Men has also given his Signature model a tune-o-matic bridge and a string-through-body tailpiece. The matte black finish matches the simple no-frills design of this guitar. Simply plug in and play!

AA-600 Alan Ashby Signature: tighter than tight

The EMG 81 has been a mainstay in the metal scene for decades. That's not surprising considering this active humbucker delivers the tightest sound possible with howling 'pinch harmonics'. The bridge and tailpiece both ensure excellent tuning stability and resonance. As soon as you turn up the volume control, this guitar really starts to come to life. The reverse headstock is another nice detail that's not just for show. It helps to keep the lower strings tight while making the higher strings easier to play too.

The ESP brand

In 1975, Hisatake Shibuya opened his Electric Sound Products shop in Japan. His high-quality replacement parts soon earned him the reputation he deserved and it wasn't long before the shop started to turn out its very own guitars under the name ESP. In the 1980s, the brand got a real boost when numerous metal bands, such as Metallica, started to use its guitars. These days, ESP offers a wide range of versatile instruments, from high-grade Custom Shop models to the affordable LTD series.
