Together with Stephen Carpenter from Deftones, ESP LTD have conceived a real monster of an electric guitar decked out with seven strings, a maple neck-thru construction, a 27" scale length and a set of signature Fishman Fluence SRC pickups. Boasting a sleekly-contoured, dual-cut mahogany body, the SC-607 spits rumbling lows while offering enough string tension to guarantee tight tone, accurate intonation and precise tune-ups. Finished with a soft Purple Satin paint-job and high-quality hardware, this signature seven-string comes complete with a form-fit MH XL guitar case.

The SC-607 Baritone: Fishman Fluence SRC & Locking Hardware

While the first incarnation of this model only had one humbucker, this ESP LTD 7-string baritone guitar comes loaded with two signature Fishman Fluence SRC humbuckers and is ready to serve up a broad selection of beefy sounds that can be toggled using the 3-way pickup switch and the push/pull volume pot. When it comes to the volume pot, the first voicing gets you that now famed Fluence Modern sound with clearly tweaked mids, while the second setting injects bite and racks up the gain. To maximise the tuning stability, ESP have thoughtfully sown up the build with a set of locking tuners and a TonePros Locking TOM-style bridge.

Mitigé pour le moment. Le design de la guitare est magnifique, les micros et le son sont top. J'appréhendais de jouer sur une 7 cordes mais la prise en main est finalement assez intuitive. Non, le vrai problème c'est la finition qui me fait douter du contrôle qualité d'ESP-LTD... J'ai reçu un premier modèle qui présentait quelques défauts de peintures (des artefacts de pigments plus foncés et surtout une arrête trop poncée qui laissait transparaître un peu le bois). Suite a un échange, j'en reçois une nouvelle qui présente cette fois des impuretés (poussières de bois?) emprisonnées dans la peinture. C'est mineur maie extrêmement dommage a ce prix et sur un coloris mât très peu permissif sur ce genre de défauts...

Double coup de malchance ou de défaut endémique a ce modèle ? Difficile à dire car les avis vu ça et là sur Internet font plutôt état d'une très bonne finition...
