General
Fender's American Professional series is the successor to the American Standard series. This American Pro Strat is equipped with two Shawbuckers that were specially created by legendary pickup designer Tim Shaw. That makes this model ideal for those who love the comfortable playability of a Strat and the sound of humbuckers. The neck is home to a Shawbucker 2 pickup, while the bridge has a Shawbucker 1. The amplified sound is full and well-balanced with growling mids and rich harmonic overtones.
American Pro Strat HH Shawbucker: versatile
This Fender Strat has a Treble Bleed circuit that ensures the integrity of the high tones even when the volume is turned down. The Shawbuckers deliver a sound that is bright or creamy, depending on the settings of the individual tone potentiometers. There's also a 5-way pickup switch that gives you a greater variety of sounds than you can get on a standard HH guitar. In position 2, for instance, the sound will be delivered by the inner coils of both pickups only, in position 4, only the outer coils will deliver the sound.
Stability, bite and comfort
Fender has equipped this Strat with their Standard sealed self-lubricating machine heads and a synchronised 2-point Tremolo bridge for stable tuning even during divebombs. The bent steel saddles ensure an extra touch of classic bite. The neck is extremely comfortable to play thanks to its Modern Deep C profile, which lies somewhere between a Modern C and a classic U. This gives it slightly more mass that adds smoothness to the playing experience, as do the narrow-tall frets, which improve the intonation as well.
