General
When Leo Fender co-founded G&L with George Fullerton in 1985, the first model was called Broadcaster, as in the very beginning. That wasn't allowed then either, so it was renamed ASAT Special. Years later, it is now available to everyone again in the form of this Surf Green-finished guitar from the Tribute series. That means you get the same design and ideas from the hands of the mastermind, only at a very acceptable price. Still not convinced? You have the classic design of a lime body with a maple neck bolted on. With 22 medium jumbo frets on the also maple fingerboard, you can go wild, but the real genius is in the two Magnetic Field Design (MFD) jumbo single coils. These elements are reminiscent of P90s or Jazzmaster pickups, but because you can raise or lower the poles individually, you can create your own sound. Furthermore, you have the innovative Saddle-Lock bridge that transfers the vibrations of the strings even better. When will you go wild on this piece of history?
