This is the left-handed version of the Ibanez RG721FM, an RG model with a basswood body and a fixed bridge. For the Prestige models, Ibanez raises the bar even higher than it does with the standard RG series. This can be seen in the beautifully finished body, the 5-ply Wizzard III neck made from maple and walnut, and the lively CAP-VM (H) humbucker pickups. The RG721FRML-NTF doesn't just look great, it sounds fantastic too.
RG721FML-NTF: neck construction
As you would expect from a Premium Series Ibanez guitar, the neck itself is a showpiece. The RG721FML-NTF has a 5-ply Wizzard neck made from maple and walnut. The top layer has 24-frets made of rosewood. The jumbo frets have undergone the 'Premium Fret Edge Treatment'. During this time-consuming process the frets are carefully and accurately finished to ensure the highest possible playing comfort.
Tight-End R and CAP-VMs
This Ibanez is fitted with a fixed Tight-End R bridge. Compared to the average tremolo bridge, this produces a more responsive and direct sound. String vibrations are guided optimally through the body. On top of this, no wood has to be removed to incorporate the tremolo bridge (unlike other tremolo bridges), which results in more of the instrument remaining intact. The RG721FML-NTF is fitted with two CAP-VM humbuckers. These were specially designed by Ibanez for the RG Premium series and compliment the rest of the instrument perfectly.
