General

Real metalheads aren't afraid of an extra string. For them (and other keen observers) Schecter offers the Hellraiser C-7 Black Cherry. It is a powerful 7-string guitar with a stunning, warm Black Cherry finish. Its arched quilted maple top gives it a sophisticated look that's beautifully complemented by marvellous abalone bindings, also around the headstock. Another striking feature are the abalone-style fretboard inlays shaped like gothic crosses. Compared to a six-string Schecter, this instrument has a slightly larger scale of 26.5 inches. It really brings out the best of the 7-string range without jeopardising its playability.

Schecter Hellraiser C-7 Black Cherry: construction

Of course, it's not all about the looks, as the Hellraiser C-7 is cut from the right stuff in all aspects. Its body and neck are made of mahogany, allowing for a full, warm base tone with sweet mids. The Schecter is a comfortable guitar to hold and play. On the one hand, this is due to its smooth neck construction (set-in neck, Ultra Access) and bevelled heel that enable you to utilise the entire tonal range up to even the highest frets. On the other, the slender C-profile neck greatly contributes to this instruments fast playing feel. Thanks to their extra jumbo size, the frets can't be missed.

EMG pickups

To give this seven-string metal axe the right voice, it is fitted with two EMG humbuckers: EMG 707TWs. These pickups are active humbuckers, specially voiced to be able to handle the tonal range of a 7-string electric guitar. Modelled after the EMG 707, these 707TWs are coil-tap pickups that can also be used as single-coils. Both volume controls are push/pull, helping you to select the right sound in no time, whether that's as sharp as knives or full and rough. It's as if this guitar is equipped with single-coils as well as humbuckers. The electronics are low noise and ensure very potent sounds. Materials, components and finish all collaborate to make the Hellraiser C-7 a highly desirable instrument.
