Boasting a few more deluxe features than the J3, plus a couple of upgrades, the J5 brings all the power and definition of a 100% newly designed pair of Larry Carlton Vintage single-coils, gifting this guitar with the sixties-style output needed to back up a technicoloured spectrum of genres. While the model that inspired this guitar was originally built for jazz, the Sire J5 will just as easily satisfy alternative, surf rock and shoegaze guitarists, all thanks to the light S-style influences and flexible sonic options.

Courtesy of the neat and clean control layout, from the three-way pickup switch to the volume and tone pots, a wide array of tonal profiles can be conjured with ease. The solid alder body of this Larry Carlton offering has been finished with rounded contours for an immediately comfy feel, while the maple neck has been given a classic C-profile and gives the rich and articulate foundation sound a nice touch of bite and sparkle. The Göldo/Sire Vintage JM-Type and DG Tremolo tailpiece support expressive note bends and, to fully stabilise the tuning, the headstock has been finished with a set of Sire Premium Locking Tuners.
