General
The flagship of Roland's V-Drums series is without a doubt the TD-50KV electronic drum kit. For years, Roland has set the standard in the world of electronic drum kits with their successful V-Drums series and with the TD-50KV, the brand is focusing on advanced, professional, demanding drummers. The difference between a digital and an acoustic kit has never been more minute! This drum kit is designed for drummers who won't accept anything but the best!
TD-50 drum module
At the heart of this electronic set, you'll find the professional Roland TD-50 drum module. You've got expansive mixing options at your fingertips and effects like reverb, flanger, compression, velocity, and EQ are all at your disposal. This module offers a whopping 400 samples! It also offers a wide variety of connection options for extra triggers. You can record and edit internally as well as via your favourite DAW program on the computer. You can also trigger samples or play along with your favourite songs as WAV files using the SD card reader. Despite all the possible options, the TD-50 has an intuitive, user-friendly menu that makes learning how to use it a piece of cake. Thanks to a balanced output, you won't be needing a DI box at your gigs, as you can connect this module directly to the PA!
Drum pads
This is a 5-piece kit which includes three cymbals and a hi-hat. For the bass drum, you'll get the KD-140-BC V-Kick, a beautiful trigger with a mesh batter head. Often, the bass drum trigger causes the most unwanted noise in an electronic kit, but thanks to the mesh head of this kit and the elevated V-Kick, that's not the case. Optionally, you could choose to invest in the KD-A22 converter and use a trigger in combination with your 22-inch acoustic bass drum. Roland offers this set in a '1 up 2 down' configuration which means one tom and two floor toms. For the tom, you'll get a PD-108-BC pad and both floor toms are equipped with a slightly larger PD-128-BC. The pads, cymbals, and the module are all mounted to the included MDS-50KV rack. For the cymbal pads, you'll get the VH-13 hi-hat, CY-14C crash, CY-15R crash ride, and the CY-18DR ride. The ride pad in particular offers a wide variety of sound options. The entire kit enables you to play expressively and dynamically, even with brushes!
Tips or comments about this product
- Please note: this kit does not include a bass drum pedal, snare drum stand, hi-hat stand or drum throne.
- With mesh heads, we recommend using nylon-tip drum sticks only. A (slightly) splintered wooden tip can damage the head.
- The actual included rack is an improved model and differs from the one seen in the images.
