You may already have seen the Elysia Xfilter on this website, a good rack equaliser. But here's the Elysia Xfilter Mastering, so where's the difference? The similarities are not hard to see; two shelving filters and two mid-peak filters. The shelving filters can be switched to cut with resonance. And the mids have a narrow or wide Q. The sound quality is also high, and 'tis that sound that many high-end studios have such an Elysia in their rack. But the difference? It's a very subtle difference. Since this edition is intended more for mastering, the sonic changes are also going to be more subtle. The gains of the filter are therefore less radical compared to the normal Xfilter, maximum +/- 5 dB, where with the normal Xfilter it is +/-16 and +/- 13 dB.
