General

The M-Audio M-Track Eight is a 24-bit/96kHz USB audio interface with a rugged 19-inch housing. The eight XLR/jack combo inputs of the M-Track Eight are suited for microphone as well as line signals. Your guitar or bass guitar can be directly connected to the two front inputs thanks to a Hi-Z switch on the front panel. The M-Track Eight is equipped with exceptionally high-grade preamplifiers that guarantee beautiful recordings, and with a sound card that is compatible with both Mac and PC and has a maximum recording resolution of 24 bits/96 kHz.

Direct Monitoring

The level of the incoming signals can be accurately monitored by means of the built-in meter bridge, and the M-Track Eight allows for zero-latency headphone monitoring - ideal when you're recording vocals or instrument parts. A monitor mix knob enables you to determine the balance between the incoming signals and the signal of your DAW. A built-in control room allows you to adjust the volume of your monitors and to listen to your audio in mono, and provides you with a DIM function. The two headphone connectors of the M-Track Eight can be switched between channels 1-2 and 3-4.

Pro Tools Express and Air Ignite

The M-Track Eight audio interface is supplied with an accessory copy of Avid Pro Tools Express. This starter version of Pro Tools offers you all the essentials you need to get started right away on your own recordings and compositions. A Pace iLok USB key is included for registration purposes. Also included with the M-Audio M-Track Eight is Air Ignite: a software MIDI sequencer with a wide range of instruments.

Wrote the following about M-Audio M-Track Eight USB Audio Interface

Pas de mauvaises surprises, le matériel semble fiable, la fabrication de qualité correcte.

L'Installation c'est bien passée le périphérique est reconnu sur Windows 8.1 64bits. J'utilise aussi un logiciel de correction acoustique "Sonarworks" et la configuration avec l'appli "Systemwide" fonctionne sans problème et les autres softs aussi.

test des 8 E/S ainsi que des fonctions, ras.

J'ai noté 4 étoiles car j'aurai souhaité une fonction plus utile que la sortie du 2e casque.

Pour le prix je ne regrette pas mon achat.

Prima rechttoe-rechtaan usb audio interface voor al die keren dat je meer dan twee ingangen nodig hebt in je home studio. 8 in, 8 uit, geen gedoe. Geen MIDI, geen SP/DIF, dus mijn oude tweekanaals interface blijft gewoon onder handbereik. Twee koptelefoon uitgangen: handig!

Knopjes zijn een beetje wiebelig, maar niet heel verontrustend.
Klank is goed, en mijn windows laptop en DAW herkennen alles feilloos.

B-stock product kwam toch in originele doos en zag er verder prima uit. Alles functioneert naar behoren. Apparaat wordt een beetje warm, maar dat lees ik vaker in reviews.

Wrote the following about M-Audio M-Track Eight USB Audio Interface

Prima prosumer-level USB2 geluidsinterface. Simpel in opzet: 8 in, 8 + 2 ('control room') uit met goede dynamische (ietsjes warm klinkende) voorversterkers, zonder digitale toeters en bellen als onboard processing, AES/EBU, SP/DIF, ADAT en WordClock. Kanalen worden probleemloos gezien in DAW (Cubase in mijn geval); handig zijn de dubbele headset aansluitingen - scheelt een aparte headphone verdeler in de meeste homestudio's. Line level schakeling alleen op kanalen 1 en 2 (front); phantom alleen schakelbaar per 4-kanaalsgroep. Aanrader voor wie lekker muziek wil maken in z'n studiootje zonder na te hoeven denken over zijn audio interface. Tip: goed opletten dat de buffersize hoog genoeg staat in de ASIO driver, anders gaat 'ie hinderlijk kraken als hij wat meer te verstouwen krijgt - bij een beetje vlotte PC levert dat nauwelijks latency-toename op.
