General
With the Fireface 802, RME are building on the success of the 800. If stability is what you need, know that you can count on RME interfaces. This FireWire audio interface features countless inputs and outputs, analogue as well as digital. Four combo connectors (XLR/jack) at the front with phantom and gain controls, as well as two headphone connectors (which can be used for monitoring) are featured. The Fireface 802 has a switchable power supply, that operates with voltages of 100 to 240 volts. A short-circuit protection mechanism and line filter are integrated, so that you can safely use this interface, wherever you are in the world!
Fireface 802: Digital Connections
Audiophiles will find that this model is extremely user-friendly. An AES/EBU in/out is included and allows for sample rates of up to 192 kHz. Two 8-channel ADAT in/outs are provided so that two additional AD/DA converters, external effects devices or mixers can be connected. The second ADAT connector can also be used as an optical SPDIF-I/O for additional connector options. All digital ADAT channels can be used simultaneously with the analogue channels.
Professional and Versatile
The Fireface 802 is highly complete as well as durable thanks to its metal housing. The 1U rack size makes it easy to install into any 19-inch rack, no matter how limited the space and for integration and interdependent synchronisation, you can use the Word Clock in/out (plug remote output) and the MIDI input and output. Connect the Fireface to a computer via FireWire 400 and 800, or via USB 2.0. Tailor-made firmware is available for Windows as well as well as Mac computers, for increased stability and low latency.
