The RME Fireface 802 FS is a flexible all-rounder of an interface that grants access to no less than sixty channels divided over both analogue and digital ports, so next to a stack of balanced XLR and TRS jack input and outputs, you get AES/EBU, ADAT/SPDIF and MIDI inputs and outputs. Another eternally handy feature is the two headphone outputs, which support monitor mixes during the recording phase as well as monitoring during the mixing phase.

Squeaky Clean Preamps & High-End AD/DA Conversion

It's no secret that RME interfaces boast some of the best preamps and conversion going, and this is no different with the Fireface 802 FS. The preamps are able to capture every minuscule detail perfectly while the unparalleled conversion guarantees that nothing is lost when analogue signals are converted to digital signals - and vice versa. Backed up by a sample rate of 192kHz, you're assured of high-resolution audio recording that's packed with every subtlety and nuance.

The TotalMix FX DSP Mixer: Total Control

The Fireface 802 FS is also home to a powerful DSP mixer that gives you complete freedom when it comes to routing and monitoring. Next to that, you'll find a digital analyser: DigiCheck, which analyses digital data in both directions to ensure maximum precision. TotalMix, meanwhile, renders any external mixer completely redundant, since this latency-free mixer supplies EQ controls, compression, reverb and delay effects for every output, including the monitor and headphone outputs. You can even use TotalMix Remote to control the hardware and effects from your iPad or Windows or Mac computer via Ethernet and WiFi.
