The Tascam US-16x08 is a USB audio interface that's bursting with typical Tascam quality. This audio interface feels just as much at home on your desk as it does mounted in a 19-inch rack, and features an impressive 16 inputs, 8 outputs and MIDI IN/OUT. The inputs can be divided into 8 microphone inputs with switchable phantom power (XLR) and 8 balanced jack inputs, two of which - located at the front - can also be used as guitar inputs. The first ten inputs have their own gain control, while the other six allow you to switch between -10 dBV and +4 dBu. The Tascam US-16x08 is suitable for PC, Mac and iOS.

The US-16x08 is equipped with Ultra-HDDA (High Definition Discrete Architecture) microphone preamps, ensuring top-notch preamplification for your dynamic and condenser microphones. You won't easily find another interface with the same clarity and low noise level - practically below hearing range - within the same price range. The formidable sound of the US-16x08 is transferred to your computer via USB, where it can be registered at an audio resolution of 96 kHz/24 bits. It's possible to use the interface in stand-alone mode, for instance as an extension of your mixer.
Quick and practical with a stylish touch
To reduce latency to a minimum, this Tascam audio interface is equipped with a DSP mixer, including user-friendly software. As a result, each channel has its own 4-band equalizer, compressor and reverb, so you're able to clean up your channel output before sending it to your preferred DAW. The Tascam US-16x08 is guaranteed to work perfectly with Sonar, ProTools, Cubase, Live, Studio One and Garage Band. To top it all off, the practical and comprehensive interface has been given a remarkably stylish and practical angled design by the German company Designbox.

The Tascam US 16x08 interface is a brilliant piece of gear, particularly when you consider the price. It has 16 inputs! OK, only 8 of them have mic pre-amps, but you're paying less than most other 8 input interfaces. It sounds great to my ears, connects to my (slow) windows laptop without problems and works smoothly with with my DAW (Studio One 3). The built in DSP is simple, but does everything I need (levels, EQ and compression). And did I mention it has 16 inputs?!!! I'm a drummer so need a lot of inputs, so this interface is perfect.
If there's one main thing I would change I would add another headphone socket. An interface like this is perfect for collaboration apart from the lack of headphone outs. That said, I already have a cheap 4 output headphone amp, so I'm not too bothered.
Bax had the cheapest price I could find anywhere for this item, and they delivered it by Royal Mail on the day I requested, no extra shipping fees, in perfect condition, so I couldn't ask more of them than that.

4 jaar geleden gekocht bij bax, toen voor 250,-, werkt nog steeds goed, nu 100,- duurder, ik neem alleen thuis op, handig om met 10 inputs aan de voorkant permanent microfoons en gitaren aan te sluiten, met digitale software mixer alle kanaal instellingen ook permanent maken, ideaal voor plug and play als je over meerdere instrumenten beschik, kan niets zeggen over de latency als je alle 16 kanalen tegelijk gebruik, ik gebruik alleen maar max 3 tegelijk, pc i5 8G onder win10 Cubase, preamps zijn goed, heb geen vergelijkingsmateriaal, alleen sm57 kan wat ruizen bij opname acc.gitaar, heb daarvoor een condensator mic gekocht, klinkt beter

Even een aanvulling over het voorgaande. In de specs staat het volgende "Fantoomvoeding per kanaal" Dit moet zijn "schakelbaar op ch 1 tm 4 en ch 5 tm 6". Tevens zijn de passief inputs (instruments) op ch 9 en 10. (IPV 1 en 2 ) Bax iets meer verdiepen in de materie thanks.

Na jaren van plugins weer terug naar analoge synth's en dus op zoek naar inputs. De kwaliteit op-amps kan mij niet zo veel schelen en die zijn de laatste jaren sowieso erg goed. (Vergeleken met de DNR mengpanelen uit mijn begintijd) Nu heb ik met deze Tascam 16 inputs (8 XLR en 8 jack) In logic-pro komen ze zonder gedoe tevoorschijn. Bij mij werkt het o.o.t.b. met de Apple M1 dus mocht je je afvragen of dit werkt... dit werkt! Ik ben er blij mee.

In 2015 mijn eerste TASCAM US-16x08 bij bax gekocht en een review daarover geschreven op 3 oktober. Inmiddels heb ik de geluidskaart 5 jaar probleemloos in gebruik voor mobiele projecten met Cubase Pro. Voldoende ingangen (16) en uitgangen (8), stabiele ASIO driver en prima geluidskwaliteit. De ingebouwde digitale mixer zorgt er voor dat je met een bandje live kunt spelen via een PA terwijl je tegelijk meersporen opnames maakt met een laptop.
Vanwege het vernieuwen van mijn desktop computer in mijn vaste home studio was een andere externe geluidskaart nodig. Gezien de goed blijvende prestaties van de eerste aanschaf onder WINDOWS 10 en Cubase, is mijn keuze opnieuw op de TASCAM US-16x08 gevallen. Top product! 5 sterren waard.
Vanwege het vernieuwen van mijn desktop computer in mijn vaste home studio was een andere externe geluidskaart nodig. Gezien de goed blijvende prestaties van de eerste aanschaf onder WINDOWS 10 en Cubase, is mijn keuze opnieuw op de TASCAM US-16x08 gevallen. Top product! 5 sterren waard.
