Tascam's 208i is a USB audio/MIDI interface that's ideal for making professional recordings live or in the studio. Thanks to ADAT, you can make use of up to 20 inputs and 8 outputs. You can record in 24-bit, 192 kHz quality and each analogue input has transparent, low-noise Ultra-HDDA preamps on board. The 208i also has a powerful DSP mixer built in that you can use to route and monitor incoming and outgoing signals as well as add effects like digital reverb. There's also a compressor, a phase inverter and a 4-band EQ. ADAT also makes it possible to monitor music in 7.1 surround sound! Word Clock inputs and outputs assure optimal synchronisation. The controls are well laid out and easy to access thanks to the angled tabletop design of the unit. The 208i also has a MIDI input and output and comes complete with Amplitube, T-Racks and Cubase LE software.
