General
For Mac users who want to make high-grade audio recordings, Universal Audio offers the Apollo Twin SOLO, a Thunderbolt audio interface with 24-bit/192kHz converters. Treat yourself to this SOLO edition of the Apollo Twin, and you'll no longer have to spend your money on expensive studio time. In both looks and features, the SOLO is similar to its larger counterpart the DUO, but it offers half the processing power. Consequently, the SOLO comes at a more affordable price - and it might be just the thing you need for your particular purposes!
Possibilities of the Apollo Twin
The Twin has a desktop design, which means it's easy to control while you're working with your Mac. Two mic/line preamps are at your disposal, as are a Hi-Z inputs for instruments and four line outputs. Or course you can also plug in your headphones, and the Apollo Twin's optical input provides you with eight additional digital inputs, should you need them. The interface has a clear, well-organised control panel, so you don't have to be a bona fide sound engineer to get yourself some serious high-grade results.
Software
The Apollo Twin SOLO comes with the Realtime Analog Classics UAD plugin bundle, which includes Legacy editions of the LA-2A Classic Audio Leveler, 1176LM Limiting Amplifier and Pultec EQP-1A Program Equalizer, as well as Softube Amp Room Essentials. These plugins can be run on any (Mac) DAW via AU, VST, RTAS and AAX64. In other words: you'll be able to record your audio sources in high quality without latency, while using great-sounding UAD plugins. Thanks to a quick Thunderbolt interface, your audio signals are transmitted to your Mac with the speed of lightning. The Apollo Twin handles the processing instead of your Mac, so you can fully focus on the creative side of the process.
