The Penn Elcom-made medium L905/915/07z butterfly latch has a fairly shallow recess of 7mm. So, if you're finishing off a self-build flight case, while this neat latch will leave nothing sticking out, it might mean that a secured padlock might stick out a little more. If that's no problem, then you're getting a solid steel closure with ten pre-drilled mounting holes.
