General
When Fender uses the word 'Deluxe' in their product name, you know you're getting the best of the best. The PM-2 from the new Paramount series is a top-quality parlour guitar at a remarkably affordable price. For an optimal sound, Fender has combined a solid spruce top with solid rosewood sides and back. The Concert Tone mother-of-pearl/abalone position marker inlays on an ebony fretboard and the Kingman-style tortoise shell pickguard add an element of luxury to this instrument.
PM-2 Deluxe Parlour: Fishman preamplifier
Fender teamed up with the renowned brand Fishman brand to develop the Fishman Paramount preamp, which was custom-built exclusively for the Paramount series. In fact, they designed a specific preamp that is especially voiced for each individual model. In other words, when you amplify this Parlour model, it sounds like an authentic parlour model. The large button functions as a volume control, and the two smaller buttons are for adjusting the bass and treble. A nice addition is the built-in chromatic tuner with mute and phase functions.
Fender Paramount: taking the stage
The name Paramount has a rich history, and is associated with the renowned concert hall in Seattle as well as the American record label, for starters. In order to maintain the excellent reputation attached to that name, Fender aimed to use the very best elementsparts and wood types available within the targeted price class. The types of wood were selected to give these solid-body, electro-acoustic steel-string guitars a rich sound. Additionally, a custom-built preamp complements the body type beautifully. The icing on the cake is a luxury case with humidifier to keep this guitar in optimal shape.
