General

Once you've gotten the beginner phase behind you and are looking for a more serious guitar, the Yamaha CPX700II is an outstanding candidate. This electro-acoustic guitar offers you the fantastic sound, quality, and playing comfort that Yamaha is famous for. On top of that, this steel-string western guitar can be played acoustically or amplified, making it great for live and studio performances. This classy guitar is excellent for home recordings as well, and is available in a variety of colours including this attractive Sand Burst finish.

Rich sound of the Yamaha CPX700II SB

The Yamaha CPX series is characterised by its medium jumbo sized body; the larger body gives this guitar a full, spacious sound with deep lows. The CPX700II is also a solid spruce top guitar which adds a rich, balanced sound with warm lows and clear highs to the mix. If you solo a lot on the higher fret positions, that's no problem either because the CPX700II has a cutaway so you can reach the highest of the 20 frets unhindered. The guitar is beautifully finished with cream coloured bindings and mother-of-pearl inlays around the sound hole and on the headstock.

ART pickup system and System64 preamplifier

In order to amplify the sound of the CPX700II as authentically as possible Yamaha equipped it with the unique ART (Acoustic Resonance Transducer) pickup system. This system consists of two contact pickups placed on the underside of the top of the guitar, directly under the bridge. This results in a realistic, rich acoustic sound from your amplifier or speakers. The CPX700II is also equipped with a System64 preamplifier which has volume control and a 3-band EQ so you can control the mid-frequencies with the AMF slide switch, which is ideal for avoiding feedback. A digital chromatic tuner is also built in with clear LED lighting so you can easily tune your instrument on even the darkest of stages.

The system is powered by two AA batteries which can be reached via the handy built-in battery compartment on the side of the guitar.
