While the words 'budget' and 'boutique' aren't exactly inextricably linked in the world of guitar pedals, JHS Pedals might just have pulled off the impossible with this 3 Series Fuzz effect pedal. Based on various famous double-transistor fuzz pedals from the '60s, this stompbox is hand-made in the United States and offers a wide range of easy-to-use options, a sweet mix of vintage and modern sounds that can be fine-tuned using the volume pot on your guitar and a Bias control to tweak the internal voltage to get more 'gating' (stutters) when it's turned up. When it comes to the fitted Fat switch, it suffices to say that it does exactly what it says it will.
