General

Orange's Fur Coat Fuzz is an effects pedal loosely based on the Foxx Tone Machine from the 1970s. Unlike most fuzz pedals, this one also has an octave up fuzz function that can be adjusted using the octave control and turned on and off using the dedicated foot switch.

Fur Coat Fuzz

The Fur Coat Fuzz is Orange's only True Bypass pedal. They've made it this way because they believe that this pedal works better at the beginning of the chain where it can react more directly with your guitar. When it's placed further back in the chain, the fuzz becomes more distorted. The pedal runs on a 9V battery or a 9V adapter. It can also run on a 12V adapter which gives it more headroom. Wrote the following about Orange Fur Coat Fuzz effects pedal

Het effect is indrukwekkend maar steeds agressief, het is niet clean te krijgen waardoor het iets te veel van fuzz was voor mij. Het design was bij mij niet zoals op foto’s, de tekening was licht en donkerroze ipv geel met roestroze zoals op foto. Als ik het volume op +9u zet klinkt er op dode momenten steeds een tikkend geluid uit de speaker - als leek met fuzz weet ik niet hoe normaal dat is maar ik vond het storend. Ik heb hem geretourneerd omdat hij samengevat niet voor mij was. Prijs/kwaliteit lijkt goed maar je moet van dominante en agressieve fuzz houden.
