Boss Katana Head Gen 3 100W guitar amplifier head with cover

General

Naturally, the third generation of Boss’s Katana range also includes a guitar amp head. The Katana Head Gen 3 is a 100-watt amp head that offers great versatility thanks to its wide selection of high-quality tones and the practical features that come with it. As well as being able to connect it to a suitable speaker cabinet for solid guitar sounds in most playing situations, you can also use it in more intimate settings thanks to the built-in 5-inch practice speaker. The third Katana series offers an even more natural response and feel, and the guitar tones now have a much richer character. This applies to both clean guitar tones and more distorted sounds. You can choose from 6 different amp models, each with 2 variants. You can then further customise your sound using the five effects sections, where you can also choose from 15 unique effects for a wide range of usable sounds.

Katana Head Gen 3: easily recall your favourite sounds and discover even more tones

To easily recall your favourite guitar sounds, you can save them to one of the four Tone Settings and retrieve them with a simple press of a button. As well as being able to easily dial in your sounds using the knobs, you can also tweak them a little further. To do this, you can use the now even better Boss Tone Studio app and its detailed adjustment tools. This also gives you access to additional equaliser settings, a choice of 3 Cabinet Resonance options and even 60 high-quality guitar effects. Need a bit less volume but want to keep your sounds full and intact? Then simply use the Power Control.

Wait… there’s more

But that’s certainly not all in terms of options. As well as extra practical features, there are other connections and possibilities to help you further. To play guitar quietly with this Boss Katana Head Gen 3 amplifier head, you can easily plug in your headphones. There’s also a Power Amp input. You can use this to combine this Katana with a preamp, effects pedal or another modeller. It’s also possible to record onto your computer or mobile device using this Boss Gen 3 via the USB connection. If you combine this guitar head with the optional Bluetooth Audio MIDI Dual Adapter and the Tone Studio app, you can even play back and edit audio wirelessly. With the separately available GA-FC and GA-FC EX footswitches, you’ll also enjoy greater ease of switching and control over this head whilst playing.
