General

The DiMarzio DP 153CR The Fred guitar element was initially designed to give some boost to the midrange frequencies of the original DiMarzio PAF Pro. During this process, something special happened: overtones and harmonics emerged that are not normally present in a humbucker. Joe Satriani was the first to use this pickup for exactly that purpose. This pickup is best used in the bridge position, but also comes into its own in the neck position.
