General
With the DiMarzio DP 757BK Illuminator 7 Bridge guitar pickups, you get a very fine bridge pickup. In keeping with endorser and Dream Theater guitarist John Petrucci's desire to increase the difference between the sound of the neck and bridge pickup, the Illuminator 7 bridge pickup does three things: it opens up the mids, boosts the highs a notch higher and makes the lows a lot tighter. The open midrange makes distorted sounds powerful without sounding sterile or harsh, while the tighter bass response avoids muddy lows.
