General

The DiMarzio DP184BK The Chopper is a guitar element with a harsh, punchy sound. It is a cross between a single coil and a humbucker. This element sounds fuller than a single coil and brighter than a humbucker. Originally intended as a bridge element, it also does very well in the neck position, with more power in the mid frequencies and low end, producing a big sound.

The DIMarzio brand

DiMarzio is an American brand mainly known for their pickups for guitar and bass guitar. The pickups they design can be inserted directly into the guitars or bass guitars they are made for. DiMarzio also makes other accessories for the (bass) guitarist, such as cables, guitar straps and hardware. The Super Distortion element made DiMarzio big. It was the first available replacement element for the electric guitar. Today, it is still one of the most popular models. Now DiMarzio makes many different types of elements. Many types fit into traditional guitar and bass guitar models such as, for example, the Stratocaster, the Jazz Bass and single cutaway types.

Wrote the following about DiMarzio DP184BK The Chopper pickup

excellent micro, pas pour rien que satriani l'utilise, mais celui qui recherche le son d'un simple ni trouvera peut-etre pas son compte, même splitté çà sonne pas pareil, c'est plutôt un son de double au format simple.
