General
With the DiMarzio DP215 EVO 2 Bridge, you bring home a (no pun intended) evolution of the original DiMarzio EVO. The EVO was designed in collaboration with Steve Vai, and so was this EVO 2. Vai's specific request was to apply a small reduction to the 4000 to 5000 Hz range on this EVO 2 model, resulting in a more balanced pickup. In addition, the EVO 2 also features a slightly less powerful ceramic magnet and lower output, which is a lot more practical, especially in live situations. Despite this, this pickup still works pretty much the same when it comes to playing with high-gain or vintage amps. By the way, the Virtual Vintage technology also allows you to emulate a fine single-coil sound when switching to split mode.
