EMG Zakk Wylde Active Humbuckers

Since a big slice of Wylde's brutal power and fierce pinched harmonics would be missing something without EMG's active pickups, Wylde has been one of their biggest cheerleaders for quite some time now. Known for his work with none-other-than Ozzy Osbourne and Black Label Society, the sound of Zakk Wylde has now been enshrined in his very own signature pickup pack, which is composed of a classic EMG81 bridge humbucker and EMG85 neck humbucker.

While many signature packs will usually come with a list of wild specifications, the Zakk Wylde pack keeps things pretty standard. Here, you're getting the sound of two legendary EMG pickups plus all of the materials needed to install them. The only little tweak lies in the included set of tone and volume controls, which come in the form of long-shaft potentiometers to match the single-cut models that are Wylde's weapon of choice. And, so you can keep those blistering riffs and licks tight and sharp, an exclusive, signed plectrum has also been thrown in.

Easy Installation

This two-part EMG super-group comes as part of a complete installation bundle, including everything you need to set your guitar up with an active loadout. To keep things as smooth and easy as possible, the included 25K tone and volume pots have not only been pre-calibrated for the pickups but feature the EMG Quik-Connect system, which removes the need to solder in the wiring. In fact, the only part that'll need soldering is the pickup switch.

Tips or comments about this product

• The EMG Quik-Connect is not compatible with the solder-free systems made by other manufacturers.
• If your guitar has an output jack with a long shaft, it will need to be replaced with a stereo version (not included).
• This EMH ZW Signature pickup set includes long-shaft potentiometers, which are compatible with most single-cut electric guitar models.
• Older Les Paul models (made before 1975) and models based on earlier LPs may require short-shaft potentiometers.
