This is the Seymour Duncan 78 Model Humbucker Set. This is a set of 2 alnico 2 double-coil guitar pickups with extra windings for those 'hotter' PAF-style sounds from the late 1970s for your electric guitar with an HH configuration. During this time period, Seymour Duncan was already known as the go-to person for guitarists looking for custom guitar pickups. Around 1978, a certain legendary guitarist, famous mainly for his fret tapping, brought a PAF pickup to him asking for it to be rewound. The goal? And better reproduction of his harmonics and a guitar sound with just a bit more power.

78 Model Set: ideal for iconic licks, vibrato effects and riffs from that iconic tonechaser

The result of this collaboration was the 78 Model bridge humbucker. Featuring an Alnico 2 magnet and exactly the same specifications as that original rewind, this guitar element delivers a combination of warmth and crunch and with clear overtones. This makes this element ideal for all those iconic licks and solid riffs of this famous tonechaser from those late seventies. To achieve an excellently matched element set, the neck humbucker is also slightly over-wound for a bit more punch. The 4-wire cable allows other switching options such as singlecoil-style coil tapping, among others, with both double-coil elements of this Seymour Duncan set.
