General
Many legendary guitar tones occur from double-coil pickups with an Alnico 2 magnet. By now, after several decades, the Seymour Duncan APH-1b Alnico II Pro bridge humbucker is one such iconic vintage output pickup. Thus, singecut solidbody guitar that Slash used with Guns N' Roses has a set of Alnico II Pro pickup on board. This bridge humbucker gives you those iconic sounds in the bridge position. The basses come out warm and give just enough of a bit, while the trebles come out tight but still nice and round. Combine this with a good amount of overdrive and/or distortion and you can add a good load of expression, dynamics and sustain to your guitar sound. Because this Seymour Duncan humbucker has a 4-wire cable, options like coil-splitting are also among the possibilities. This allows you to add singlecoil-like single-coil guitar sounds to your sound arsenal, in addition to double-coil sounds.
