General

This is the Seymour Duncan SH-14 Custom 5 7-String Bridge. You could simply describe the high-output Custom 5 pickup as the vintage 59 Bridge but twice as loud. This type of double-coil element was originally developed under the name Custom Custom in the Custom Shop, after Seymour Duncan was asked to create an Alnico 5 variant based on the much-loved Custom humbucker. Incidentally, this 7.string version of this pickup is also handmade at Seymour Duncan's headquarters in Santa Barbara, California.

SH-14 Custom 5 7-String: low and high excellently balanced with scooped mids

This Seymour Duncan humbucker gives your 7-string guitar a full base tone, with the low and highs excellently balanced and the midrange scoped. Its balanced guitar sound allows you to use it in a variety of styles and is also excellent with more moderate 7-string neck pickups. The 4-core cable also allows you to coil-split or parallel switch this pickup via the appropriate connections. To combat unwanted feedback while playing amplified 7-string guitar, this SH-14 Custom 5 7-String is vacuum wax-potted.
