General

Sometimes you want that authentic fifties sound, but also the ability to split to single-coil? For this reason, Seymour Duncan releases this version of the SH-1b 59 with a 4-conductor cable. Ideal if you want to combine this bridge humbucker with single-coils and/or another 4-conductor humbucker plus a 5-way element switch. Incidentally, besides coil-splitting, it is also possible to put the humbucker out of phase for, for example, that famous nasal Peter Green sound in the intermediate positions.

Vintage features of the SH-1b 59

The Seymour Duncan 59 humbucker is known for its crystal-clear cleans, full and bright distortions and a lilting sustain. The SH-1b owes this to its original 1950s specifications, including an Alnico 5 magnet, an enamelled coil wire and a vintage-style bottom plate with long legs and wooden spacer. Compared to the SH-55 Seth Lover, the Seymour Duncan SH-1 has more scooped mids. In addition, it is immersed in wax (wax potted) to counteract unwanted feedback.

Bax Music Warranty This product comes with a 3-year warranty.
