General

If you want that fifties humbucker sound alongside the option to split it down the middle for some single-coil output, then the four-wire bridge edition of the Seymour Duncan SH-1b 59 brings the goods. The ideal pup if you want to team up a bridge humbucker with single-coils or other four-conductor humbuckers plus a five-way switch, this model supports phase switching as well as coil-split switching, so you can even gain that renowned Peter Green style nasal sound in the in-between switch settings.

The Vintage Vibes of the SH-1b '59

The Seymour Duncan 59 humbucker is already known for shaping bell-like cleans, full and defined distortions and a singing sustain. This is all courtesy of the original fifties specifications: an Alnico 5 magnet, an enamelled coil, a baseplate finished with long feet and a wooden spacer. Compared to the SH-55 Seth Lover, the mids are more scooped and, since the SH-1b 59 has been wax potted, unwanted feedback is efficiently countered to support clean and responsive sound.
