General
A cracking sound when you adjust the volume or tone may be a sign that the volume or tone potentiometer on your electric (bass) guitar is in need of replacing. The ALP500-A43 is a metric potentiometer that is usually found on Asian guitars. Its 500K logarithmic taper makes it a great volume control for high-output guitar equipped with humbuckers, for instance. It has a split shaft, so screwless knobs can easily be fitted to it.
Tips or comments about this product
Please note: this potentiometer features a coarse shaft with 18 teeth and is only suited for coarse knobs. These knobs can be found on guitars from Japan, China, Korea, and Indonesia. For American knobs, it's best to use potentiometers by brands like Fender and CTS.
