Anika Nilles has been a fan of Meinl's Byzance cymbals for years. She worked together with Meinl to develop these 18-inch hi-hats that have a traditional finish and are part of the Artist Concept series. They're based on the Byzance series and the top cymbal even has cutouts that are similar to those found on the Byzance Vintage Trash Crash. Of course, you can use these Anika Nilles Deep Hats as your main hi-hat but they're really more suitable as a second hi-hat. That's why they come with an X-Hat Auxilliary Hi-hat Arm.
