General

If you want to protect your keyboard properly during transport, a durable fight case is a must-have, especially when you travel by air and know that your valuable instrument could end up underneath a pile of suitcases in the hold of the plane. This flight case is made of molded polyethylene, a virtually indestructible synthetic material often used for military purposes. An added bonus of this material is that it's much more lightweight than a standard wooden flight case. Excluding keyboard, it weighs just about 13 kilos, and has a rubber handle on top. It also has castors on one side that have a weight capacity of 95 kilos, and a spring-loaded rubber handle for wheeling it around.

The most important thing about this flight case is that your keyboard fits inside. Its interior dimensions are 1,302 x 508 x 203 mm, but for a snug, secure fit, it's equipped with thick foam inserts that you can position around your keyboard. There is also room inside for various small accessories.

TSA-approved locks

Close the case tightly using the four latches, two of which feature TSA-approved locks. TSA-approved locks make things a lot easier for the Transportation Security Agency, which is the official organisation that checks your baggage at the airport. TSA employees have special keys that open TSA-approved locks. This way, they can quickly and easily open up the locks and have a look inside. In short, you'll be saving yourself and airport security employees time and hassle with TSA-approved locks, especially if you're a frequent flyer.
