General

If you tour regularly, or just want a safe place to store your keyboard, then a sturdy, protective flight case is definitely a good investment. Most flight cases are made of wood, and are therefore more susceptible to damage should they end up at the bottom of the tour bus with the rest of the gear piled on top of them. These TSA-approved Gator Cases, however, are made of polyethylene, so you can rest assured your keyboard will arrive at its destination in one piece. Polyethylene is a synthetic material that's also used in the military, which tells you it's built to last! On the inside, you'll find thick foam padding inserts that you can position around any suitable 88-key keyboard for a perfect fit, regardless of the model.

Gator Cases GTSA-KEY88 for keyboards with 88 keys

This case is suitable for virtually all keyboards with 88 keys, although we recommend measuring your instrument carefully just to make sure. The interior dimensions of this case are 1,499 x 483 x 168 mm and the exterior dimensions are 1,638 x 565 x 260 mm. This case weighs about 14.5 kilos on its own, which may seem on the heavy side, but most flight cases on the market today are even heavier. To make transportation even easier, it comes equipped with a set of castors and two rubber handles. It's also fitted with four latches, two of which feature TSA locks, which brings us to the next aspect: travelling with your keyboard by air.

TSA locks for airport security

Airport security inspections can be time-consuming and stressful if you have locks on your suitcases that TSA personnel can't open. TSA-approved locks make things a lot easier for the Transportation Security Agency, which is the official organisation that checks your baggage at the airport. TSA employees possess special keys that open TSA-approved locks. That means you can close and lock your Gator Case and board the plane, knowing your keyboard will arrive at your destination in one piece and, hopefully, at the same time you do!
