Wrote the following about Austrian Audio OC18 Dual Set Plus Large-Diaphragm Condenser Microphone (Stereo Pair)
It's still early days, as the mics only arrived four days ago; but so far I've been delighted with the OC18s.
I've compared them with a pair of KM184s, and also with my Sennheiser 8050, and they're certainly in that league. Lots of detail and 'depth' to the sound, with a good tonal balance.
So far I've recorded an acoustic guitar with the OC18s in an XY setup, and recorded by own voice in a comparison recording with the mics mentioned above, just for a test.
In both cases the sound seems to have good texture, and I'm really excited to have these new mics in my kitbag. Now looking forward to using them for more music and voiceover recordings: so a strong recommendation from me. I'm now saving for a pair of 818s.......
