General

Besides the flagship of the Black Hole series, the BH-1, JZ Microphones also offers this BH-2 condenser microphone. It's a more accessible mic to audio engineers and music producers on a budget. The real difference between these two mics is their polar pattern - the BH-2 features a fixed cardioid pattern while the BH-1 offers the choice to switch between three different patterns. The BH-2's cardioid polar pattern picks up audio directly from the front of the mic, and nothing from the sides or rear, making it an excellent choice for vocals and other close-miking applications.

Discrete components and GDC

For this BH series, JZ Microphones have used only the very best components, resulting in a pure, authentic representation of the recorded audio source. While every JZ mic is equipped with a GDC (Golden Drop Capsule), this one consists of a single large diaphragm for an ultra-realistic audio image. The discrete Class A audio components ensure very low self-noise and are hand-soldered to avoid overheating.

Dynamic without tubes

The Black Hole microphone series by JZ Microphones does not contain tubes, but their modern internal circuitry is designed to handle the signal path perfectly without them. This, in combination with the GDC, means that the BH-2 can respond dynamically to the audio source. What's more, its diaphragm can react quickly to dynamic changes, resulting in extremely natural-sounding recordings. The Black Hole BH-2 does not contain any converters, which means you get maximum performance with minimum noise and distortion.
