The Lewitt LCT441 FLEX large-diaphragm condenser microphone is not unlike the award-winning LCT440 PURE, but its special feature is that you can select one of eight built-in directional characteristics for ideal mic positioning. In actual fact, there are two pickup patterns, omni and figure-eight, with steps in between for a total of eight different audio qualities to cover just about any recording situation perfectly.

This is a great benefit to have, as the popular cardioid pattern can cause the unwanted proximity effect, which can occur in low frequencies when a cardioid mic is placed too close to an audio source. To prevent this from happening, you can simply switch the LCT441 FLEX to omni, for instance, to solve the problem and continue recording!
