Remo’s 18-inch Silentstroke bass drumhead is ideal for drum students, because of its dampening function. A Silentstroke produces a much softer sound than an ordinary drumhead, making it ideal for rehearsal sessions, as the neighbours won't be bothered. This is ideal, of course! Als je in stilte wil drummen is dit een goede oplossing voor de toms. Werkelijk bijna geen geluid! Wat mij betreft zelfs iets teveel demping. De rebound is iets sterker dan gewone vellen. Bekkens dempen blijft daarentegen natuurlijk een lastig verhaal. Daar heb ik nog nooit een realistische oplossing voor gevonden.

Bestonden dit soort vellen maar 20 jaar eerder! Had me heel wat gedoe met de buren gescheeld...Deze vellen klinken heel zacht en je kunt zo zonder problemen tot diep in de nacht doorspelen! Ik gebruik ze i.c.m. de low volume bekkens van Zildjian. Voor iets meer toon en attack heb ik er een falam slam pad opgeplakt. Werkt uitstekend! Een betere oplossing voor stil oefenen is er wat mij betreft niet. En voor de prijs hoef je het niet te laten! Aanrader!
