General
Remo offer drummers a great solution against noise pollution: the Silentstroke drumheads. These single-ply mesh heads reduce the volume of the drums with no less than 80 percent! This is ideal if you practise a lot or want to drum late at night! The SN-0012-00 version of the Silentstroke has a diameter of 12 inches, making it suitable for 12-inch toms or snare drums.
Remo Silentstrokes
Many drummers have been waiting for this product for years, as it makes everyone happy: no noise pollution for the neighbours and a great drumming experience! You can throw away your rubber practice pads and dampening mats, this Silentstroke feels a lot better to play on. They are just like ordinary drumheads, but only produce 20% of the volume. The mesh provides a great drumstick response, which is especially pleasant when you are rehearsing. This drumhead also supports trigger modules.

I bought these heads in 8, 12 and 13, I already had a 14 on a snare, to be used with the Sonor Martini kit as a permanent practice set up at home. Along with this I also use Zildjians low volume cymbals. The heads are great! Its so good being able to have a (really) good, permanent practice kit that actually sounds good. I wish these things had been about when I was starting off on the kit. The heads are maybe not great for fast sticking exercises but you can keep a practice pad handy for those sort of things. For a fun and realistic, full kit set up these are perfect.

Ik heb deze drumvellen nu meerdere maanden gebruikt, en ze werken echt super. Aangezien mijn drumstel op zolder staat hoor je het lawaai door het hele huis, maar met deze vellen totaal niet meer. Kwaliteit is ook super, en ze gaan nu al een hele tijd mee. Enige minpuntje is dat de rebound iets anders is, maar dat is logisch omdat het een andere stof is.

Ik speel al een aantal jaar op een E drum, dus uiteraard nooit problemen met de buren, maar sinds een paar maand heb ik nu ook een akoestische kit, en dan ligt het toch even anders...
dus een set zildjian low volume cymbals aangeschaft (toppie) en zolang ik thuis oefen, de vellen verwisseld met "silentstoke" op snare en toms !!! grandioos !!! ik heb met een decibelmeter het verschil nagekeken tussen mijn E drum, en mijn akoestische kit... en er is geen verschil !!! ik dus tevtreden (en de buren ook)

Werkt super! Zeer laag volume, en voelt vrijwel hetzelfde als een 'echt' vel. Gebruik het zelf omdat ik in een appartement woon en graag de buren te vriend houd. Ideale oplossing!

Als je in stilte wil drummen is dit een goede oplossing voor de trommels. Werkelijk bijna geen geluid! Wat mij betreft zelfs iets teveel demping. De rebound is iets sterker dan gewone vellen. Ideaal voor rudiments in stilte oefenen. Voor het oefenen op je gehele drumset is het niet ideaal, want bekkens dempen blijft natuurlijk een lastig verhaal. Daar heb ik nog nooit een realistische oplossing voor gevonden. Je krijgt op een bekken ofwel een plok-plok geluid met een dempmat, of het is ongedempt en krankzinnig hard t.o.v. de toms. Brushes blijven makkelijk hangen in de gaasvellen. Dus de overgebleven oplossingen zijn Whisperrods van Qsticks of elektrische bekkens.

Bestonden dit soort vellen maar 20 jaar eerder! Had me heel wat gedoe met de buren gescheeld...Deze vellen klinken heel zacht en je kunt zo zonder problemen tot diep in de nacht doorspelen! Ik gebruik ze i.c.m. de low volume bekkens van Zildjian. Ze 'stuiteren' wel behoorlijk maar n.v.v.t. neemt dat wel wat af. Een betere oplossing voor stil oefenen is er wat mij betreft niet. Geen enkel alternatief speelt zo goed en klinkt ook nog eens heel behoorlijk. En voor de prijs hoef je het niet te laten! Aanrader!
