Focusrite microphone preamplifiers have been used by artists and sound techs in professional studios since 1985 and have played an important role in the creation of hundreds of hits. One of the more recent high-quality preamps is the ISA One - in suitcase size - which is now being produced by the famous manufacturer as the Focusrite ISA Two (Dual Mono Mic Pre): a double microphone preamplifier in 19-inch size! This high-quality preamp has many impressive features, including more line inputs, mic inputs, sends and returns.
The Top-Quality ISA Two
Do you only need a couple of preamps, but still need them to feature top-of-the line quality? Then the Focusrite ISA Two is the ideal solution! It's equipped with two Lundahl LL 1538 transformers, which offer an impressively broad frequency response. Mount the ISA Two in a 19-inch rack, and you can plug in two microphones (to the back) or two instruments (to the front - you don't even need a DI box anymore!
Variable Input Impedance
By way of the variable input impedance on the front, you have more power over your sound, whether you want natural, transparent audio or that classic microphone character. With up to 80dB of gain there's very little noise, so the ISA Two can handle challenging surroundings, allowing the sound of your microphone to really come into its own whether it's a condenser, moving-coil or ribbon mic.
High-Pass
You also have the freedom to choose which part of the low tones you want to filter out, thanks to the variable cut-off high-pass filter. The filter, which has the same design as the original ISA 100 module, has a range of 16 to 420 Hz, and is adjustable via a large, clear dial. Now those irritating low-frequency noises are a thing of the past!

Als je van plan bent deze Focusrite Isa Two aan te schaffen, zorg dan ook dat je goed matereaal hebt want hij komt het best tot zijn recht met hoogwaardige microfoons en een hele goeie mengtafel of interface. Ik gebruik hem voor 2 Neumanns namelijk: een U 87 en een TLM 102. Waarom wil ik dit even stellen.
De prijs van dit apparaat toont aan dat we hier te maken hebben met zeer professioneel matereaal. De ISA 2 is zowat een standaar in veel productie, radio en zelfs televisiestudio's. Dus als je een slechte microfoon aansluit heb je een slechte microfoon aangesloten volgens de ISA 2. Hij liegt namelijk nooit. Wél is het zo dat je de gain, low cut filtering en extra gain heel specifiek en fijn kan afregelen waardoor je studiomicrofoon wel heel wat verfijning krijgt maar toch is een microfoon in een middenklasse toch als basis aangewezen. Bij mij zit de kast aangekoppeld op een Ecler MAC 90V clubmixer jawel die het nog altijd uitstekend doet. De connectoren zijn uitermate degelijk en de line-inputs stralen professionaliteit uit. amper ruis zelfs of quasi geen en de DBX equalizer en compressorunits kunnen er goed mee overweg. Het apparaat is eenvoudig in gebruik en kan ook goed overweg met dynamische microfoons.
conclusie:
dit is een onverantwoord goed apparaat dat waanzinnige prestaties kan neerzetten en de prijs is dus ook volledig terecht. Ik merk ook dat die in de drie jaar dat men hem fabriceert niet gewijzigd is en dat is een pluspunt.
