General

Armed with SuperAnalogue PureDrive mic preamps based on the same preamps that powered the original SSL Origin console from the 1980s, the Solid State Logic PureDrive QUAD boasts superb sonic clarity and punch alongside the flexibility to shape warm, harmonically rich sound with a maximum resolution of 32-bit/192 kHz. This premium microphone preamp/audio interface hooks you up with four channels complete with gain and trim controls, plus a high-pass filter for cutting out low frequencies as needed. And there's more.

AES/EBU and Insert Send/Return Ports

The unique effect send integration enables you to route the output signal of your external compressor, equalizer or other outboard gear directly to the input of the PureDrive Quad via the fitted DB25 port, from which the signal is then routed to the XLR outputs at the rear of the Quad. Meanwhile, the two AES/EBU outputs support an additional four 24-bit/48kHz channels, while the ADAT LINK IN port can be used to connect a second PureDrive QUAD unit for access to even more channels. SSL has thoughtfully finished the interface with an input impedance switch so you can match the input impedance with the microphone you're using, plus four Hi-Z inputs for plugging instruments in directly.
