General

The Shure KSM42 is a side-address cardioid condenser microphone that was designed especially for tracking vocals in the studio. Everything, from the capsule to the preamp, and from the housing to its accessories, was designed to facilitate high-quality recordings. It boasts an optimised frequency range, and both internal and external pop filters, allowing for a crystal-clear sound that is free of wind and breath noise, while the internal shock mount and included suspension shock mount eliminate any handling noise.

Furthermore, the Shure KSM-42 features a dual 24-carat diaphragm design with an active front, giving it a wide dynamic range and providing the vocalist with some more freedom of movement - it doesn't matter much whether you're two inches away from the mic, or twenty.
