A solid gust of wind can be a disaster during a recording of a conversation out of doors. If you use a Shure VP89M shotgun microphone, you'll do well to get your hands on this A89SW-JMR windjammer. This fake-fur deadcat ensures an efficient attenuation of wind noises. About 10 dB of ambient noises are attenuated, without the recording quality being reduced. It is developed in collaboration with Rycote, a company with a lot of expertise when it comes to professional microphone accessories.
