Yamaha MD-BT01 DIN-MIDI Bluetooth LE Adapter

This Yamaha Bluetooth setup is an excellent choice if you need to link your midi keyboard to your iPad. There are other ways to doing this such as Irig however these will occupy your Lightning port meaning you can’t charge your device or use the output as I do into HDMI. The Yamaha dongle is very easy to use , just plug into your midi device in the in/out ports. If you go to the settings/Bluetooth on your IPad the dongle will not show as a device. I downloaded a free app called Midimttr which allows you to assign midi devices. I gleaned this from a YouTube video ! As soon as you select the devices menu in midimittr the Yamaha appears and you can connect to it and choose your midi routing options. Then it’s just a case of loading your music app and selecting the appropriate midi channel etc. There is a red led on the dongle which flashes then turns constant once you’re connected. The dongle is midi powered which means you can use it as I have on my Korg micro Korg allowing me to have portable freedom without wires, brilliant ! In use the dongle behaves perfectly and I’m very happy with indeed, would highly recommend
