General

As far as keyboard and synthesizer keys are concerned, 61 is a common, practical quantity that works great in the studio. Regular 61-key models can be quite sizeable, however, which isn't ideal for small-size (home) studios or mobile applications. Fortunately, Korg has issued the 61-key MicroKey 2 Air, a USB MIDI keyboard that's remarkably compact thanks to the use of comfortable mini keys. It also features pitch and modulation wheels, and Bluetooth connectivity for wireless control. You can use the MicroKey 2 Air to control your own DAW and virtual instruments, but a software bundle is also included with the MIDI controller. Korg has been as generous as ever; with packages such as Reason Limited and virtual synthesizers, you can get right down to business.

Klein maar fijn keyboard.
4 sterren omdat het draadloos spelen erg veel latency heeft.
Ik wil niet "wachten" op het geluid zodra ik speel op de toetsen.
Toch maar weer een USB kabel gebruikt en dan gaat het prima.

De term "Microkey" suggereert kleine, onhandelbare, priegelige toetsjes, maar niets is minder waar: dit keyboard speelt prima! Ik heb het aangeschaft om lekker lui onderuit op de bank muzikaal te kunnen freaken en instrumentenbibliotheken te kunnen verkennen, zonder angst om aansluitingen van het keyboard of mijn MacBook te buigen en beschadigen. Ideaal, de bluetooth verbinding. Voor het serieuze spel schakel ik over naar een ander keyobard of de Clavinova, maar voor de simpele probeersels vind ik dit draadloze keyboard echt een uitkomst. Top!
Wel jammer dat het keyboard niet de volgende dag werd bezorgd door de koerier. Er werd een tijdstip doorgegeven (tussen 18 en 22:30 uur 's avonds) maar er kwam niemand terwijl ik wel extra bezorgkosten hiervoor had betaald. De bestelling kwam pas 24 uur later. De extra bezorgkosten zijn helaas niet gecrediteerd.
