General

Even in this wireless day and age, lots of MIDI equipment is still dependent on cables. Korg happily breaks the mould, however, with their 25-key MicroKey 2 Air USB MIDI keyboard, which offer wireless Bluetooth connectivity in addition to its regular USB port. The MicroKey is remarkably compact, which is perfect if you only have limited studio space at your disposal. Its 25 mini keys are small, but quite comfortable to play. Unlike its larger counterparts, this 25-key model has a joystick controller for pitch bend and modulation, and an arpeggiator. In all other regards, all MIDI keyboards from the MicroKey 2 Air series are identical - apart from their number of keys, of course. As a great bonus, the Korg MicroKey 2 Air controller comes with an attractive software bundle that includes Reason Limited, AAS and UVI software, and more.

Gebruik deze Korg met name i.c.m. iPad. Bluetooth verbinding zonder latency, superaccuraat. Toetsen zijn smal maar uitstekend om losse solo's in te spelen. Snel twee octaven omhoog of omlaag shiften met dedicated buttons, die ook duidelijk aangeven d.m.v. kleurenleds waar je precies zit qua transponeren. Samen met een USB hub (bedrade onderlinge verbindingen) werk je zonder batterijen in het keyboard en, wanneer je ook de stekker in het stopcontact steekt, eveneens zonder je iPad leeg te trekken. Voor bluetooth spreekt de Korg twee penlites aan. Altijd wel een krachtbron dus. Supercompact en handig. Nu alleen nog een passend draagtasje voor deze aanwinst!

Ik heb deze Midi controller aangeschaft om noten in te voeren in een notatieprogramma op mijn iMac.
Het apparaat voldoet hiervoor prima.
Wil je muziek maken dan zou ik voor een andere controller kiezen, 2 octaven zijn wat weinig en de toetsen (19mm) wat smal.
Voor de rest prima apparaat.
De licentie voor acht synthesizers in de Korg Gadget LE softwarebundel bieden genoeg mogelijkheden.

Gekocht voor het invoeren van muziek in een notatieprogramma in Windows. Bluetooth driver downloaden, installeren en apparaat koppelen. Daarna werd het keyboard prima herkend door de software. Keyboard voldoet daarom voor mij prima.

Het keyboard is van hard plastic met een simpele uitstraling. Rubber nopjes voorkomen schuiven. De toetsen voelen goed. Voor noten invoer zijn 25 toetsen voldoende maar om muziek uit te voeren zou je een grotere versie moeten overwegen.

Bijgeleverde software is niet bijzonder. Oude versies of demoware.
