The Pro Tools Dock by Avid combines the best of touch screen technology with physical faders, switches and knobs for quick navigation and visual monitoring. This forms Pro Tools' ultimate hybrid that, in combination with Pro Tools S3, boasts improved functionality and even more control. You'll find features such as automation, transport knobs and controls, a weighted jog wheel, coloured, programmable soft key controls, and more.

Pro Tools Dock: ultimate control

Seamless integration between touch screen and physical hardware; that was the goal Pro Tools set for itself when they developed the Pro Tools Dock. Its eight soft keys can be used to drive parameters like EQing, panning, dynamics, and to route buses through to the so-called Attentioned channel. This is child's play on the Dock. Simply select the track title on the iPad and send it to the fader, then use the touch screen integration to quickly navigate through your extensive projects.

A clear overview of your workflow

Working this way will result in a detailed overview of the channel/track, which is referred to as 'super' channel view. This works for the Dock as well as in Pro Tools S3, and helps you find the instrument you want to edit, the track it's on, and which LFO, EQ or any other effect you want to use in a single glance. Another handy feature is the coloured LED buttons that are located directly underneath the iPad on the Dock. These correspond with the soft keys in the smaller overview on the iPad screen in combination with the Pro Tools Control app.
